Job description

Reporting to the heads of the company, the Talent Acquisition/Human Resources Manager is the founding HR employee and will be a key builder, adviser and consultant to the company. This individual will work closely with the CEO, COO, and others to roll up their sleeves and proactively address recruiting/talent acquisition, employee relations/culture, organizational development, and strategic workforce planning.


Specifically, this professional will be a key representative and will evangelize the company in the market while proactively ensuring pipelines of key roles across the organization are prepped and ready to address the company’s current and growing needs. This individual will ensure employees are successfully hired, onboarded, and retained, will help those transitioning out of the company, and will keep an eye on overall planning to support the growth and culture of the business.


As a result, the ideal candidate will be a recruiting/talent acquisition professional from the Los Angeles ad agency market who will use that as a portal to the rest of the HR partnership. This person will be both practical and strategic, very comfortable in an external-facing role and yet also consultative. This individual will be scrappy, creative and entrepreneurial, and will roll up their sleeves to do whatever it takes to get things done.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages day-to-day recruiting/talent acquisition needs for all business units. Drives recruiting/talent acquisition strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Will be a key representative and evangelize the company in the market. Will have a finger on the pulse of all competitors and identify emerging and existing talent.
  • Interfaces internally with senior leaders to proactively fill talent pipelines in anticipation of future needs.
  • Works with hiring managers to assess recruitment needs and org design. Ensures job descriptions are competitive, up-to-date, and compliant.
  • Utilizes all available recruiting tools, databases, and platforms (such as LinkedIn) to source and develop pools of candidates. Partners with the hiring manager to fill open positions.
  • Acts as a strong business partner by offering support and solutions.
  • Creates and promotes a culture of diversity, inclusion, collaboration, and teamwork.
  • Serves as a resource for the CEO, COO & CFO regarding potential merger and acquisition targets that enable the company to scale without sacrificing product quality and cultural excellence.
  • As appropriate and at the request of leadership, will help exiting employees find future career opportunities.
  • Will ensure employees are successfully hired, onboarded and retained.
  • Eventually will build a business case for talent acquisition and HR.
  • Other duties as required.



Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience as a Recruiter/Talent Acquisition professional with possible related experience in HR or other positions.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Los Angeles ad agency market.
  • A natural comfort as a networker in an external-facing role. Will have prior experience building networks in many areas of the advertising industry.
  • Superior interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills. Will be a proactive communicator and who can manage up, down, and across an organization.
  • Will understand the value of talent acquisition/recruiting and will eventually be able to make an internal case for it and demonstrate a ROI.
  • Will have the tools to evaluate candidates for various roles. Will be an excellent judge of character with a high emotional intelligence.
  • Strong consultative, problem-solving, and multitasking skills in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
  • Will have demonstrated proficiency with appropriate and related technological tools, platforms and products.
  • Ability to work with employees of all levels.
  • The position requires professional responsibility and the highest degree of discretion.
